Westfields
Infant School is a successful and popular school that offers a
warm and friendly welcome to all. It
shares an attractive and extensive campus with a nursery, junior school,
comprehensive school with sixth form, together with the public library,
community centre and a variety of sports and leisure facilities.
The school was built in 1968 with six classrooms and extended to
its present size in 1971.
The school building is light, spacious and airy with nine
classrooms surrounding a central hall and courtyard.
In addition there is a library, admin area, ICT suite, cookery room, kitchen and several shared reading and
working areas.
The immediate grounds surrounding the infant school are spacious
and offer the children many and various opportunities to study, grow
healthily and develop their social skills, relax and have fun, There are
two playground areas – one is especially equipped fenced area for the
Reception year children, providing larger playground equipment where
very young children can feel secure during their first terms at school.
The larger playground provides zoned areas and is adjacent to the field
that gives opportunities for adventure play.
